Halloween 2007

We had a very busy two days. Monday Ava and I flew in from San Diego. She had two Halloween parties at her school that we dressed up for. And Halloween night we headed over to Ayden and Julian's house to do the country trick or treating hayride. It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect, no jacket needed! Ava did really good, but kinda got tired in the end. Max has the croup so he and Matthias stayed home to pass out candy...poor Superman! Oh well, over all a great Halloween. On to the next holiday!

Today was a good day!!

I'm officially a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers today!!!

It took me exactly 7 months to get here and I didn't starve or go without. I ate out at my favorite restaurants, drank my favorite drinks and enjoyed my favorite desserts. I just did it all in moderations and with in my point range. Yep, counted points for 7 months. Of course I fell off here and there, but jumped right back on the very next meal....That was key for me!!

Now I have to figure out how to keep it off......so, on to the next goal.

Goal 3- Maintain through the holidays, check back with ya Jan. 5th!!

Into the Wild

OMG!!!
(OH MY GOD!!!)

"Happiness is only real when shared"
(this was one of the many quotes I tried to remember in my head during the movie...so many others to live by..)

This movies was absolutely amazing. And the fact that it was inspired by a true story, makes me love it even more. So touching to the heart that I smiled and cried at the same time through the whole movie. Okay, so I didn't really cry the whole movie, but most of it. Sean Penn rocked his first attempt as a director, he really did!!

Go see it, call me and lets talk.

RAE Cosmetics!!

April(in the blue)-The RAE Cosmetics Make-up Artist, she's awesome and her mom Arlene and my mom grew up together and are like best friends.....CRAZY!!! Love her, Rochelle, Me, Pamela, and two of her friends...forgot their name--but they were a joy to be around!! Nice Nice Peeps and we like that!!! The blond on the end owns her own boutique in Fort Worth. Its really really close to my SIL's parents on University across from the entrance to the Zoo....in the same shopping center as the I-Hop(thats for you Lesli).

Last week I got to hang out with my long time friend Rochelle Rae-owner, creator, artist, heart and soul of RAE Cosmetics. Pamela's boutique in Coppell Texas is carrying her makeup now and they had a big celebration to launch the makeup line. Margaritas and makeup brushes where flying everywhere. We had lots of fun and it was great to hang with them all.

Now I have to say, I'm a RAE lover. I needed to buy some makeup a few months ago and I did....all RAE stuff. And I'm loving it. It's mineral makeup and if you don't know the difference in mineral makeup and dept. store makeup let me help you out...I found this info on
mineral makeup beauty blog
...

WHAT IS MINERAL MAKEUP?

Mineral makeup has only recently become commercially popular, but is in fact the oldest form of makeup (Cleopatra used mineral cosmetics for her skin care - and that was more than two thousand years ago!).

So what exactly are mineral makeup products? They are simply cosmetic products that are made from natural minerals found in nature (like mica, titanium dioxide, zinc, iron oxides, ultramarine pigments, calcium). These minerals are mined from around the world, and then purified, powdered and mixed with other inorganic pigments for a wide color range.

Why should you use mineral makeup? Well, there are a myriad of advantages of mineral makeup over traditional makeup, I'll briefly list a few (I'll write a more detailed post about the benefits of mineral makeup later):

* mineral makeup doesn't contain harmful ingredients to the skin like chemicals, preservatives, oil, talc, fragrance

* mineral makeup is less expensive than traditional makeup

* mineral makeup is recommended by dermatologists, as it doesn't clog pores, is anti-inflammatory and actually nourishes the skin

there is a wide range of colors available
* mineral makeup behaves as an atioxidant, protecting the skin from the pollutants and free radicals in the air

* it makes the skin appear (and feel) younger and healthier

* mineral makeup lasts much longer than traditional makeup (and you can also sleep in it!)

* mineral cosmetics are not organic - they contain no moisture, and bacteria can't grow on them

* minerals are natural sunscreens

* mineral makeup covers blemishes, acne, large pores, scars very effectively

As more and more people are realizing the harm that traditional makeup products are doing to their skin, they are switching to natural mineral makeup products that are actually healing their skin.

This blog will try to help you in choosing the best mineral cosmetic products, as well as give you tips and advice on applying mineral makeup and maybe even preparing your own mineral makeup at home!

A few things about RAE that I love:Everything Rae has SPF 20 in it, and lord knows at my age we better all be wearing some spf. The foundation goes on like moisturizer and stays on so great. The mascara is now my favorite, I'm not allowed to say the brand I've always worn but Ro's concoction out does it for sure. This makeup is made for the HOT TEXAS SUN and it doesn't go on heavy like some makeups! Oh and my favorite...you can sleep in it....finally a thumbs up for my bad habit.

So get over the convenience factor of running to the mall and do your skin a favor....buy RAE cosmetics! heehee!

How to sneeze and cough!!!

At the gym today I witnessed something very disturbing. On the treadmill next to me a young lady coughed a couple of times with out covering her mouth and then sneezed into her hand while continuing on with her workout. Yes, grabbed on to the handles of the treadmill and continued on with her workout, I was floored. Her nasty, disgusting, sick germs there for all of us. Maybe I'm a little more paranoid b/c having sick babies is no fun. And all it takes is the bend of a elbow to prevent most of our nasty germs from spreading.

So, this is kinda a funny video if found to educate the proper way to cough and sneeze. When will we all learn? click here

Austin for the weekend!

Bored with Plano we decided to meet my parents in Austin this weekend. Thanks Chris and Lesli for housing all of us....and the babies too!! We had lots of fun!!

Into our toddler bed!!

Time for some toddler bed action!! Tonight will be the first night Ava will sleep in her toddler bed. She's slept in a regular bed at Dee Dee's & Papa's and at Uncle Chris & Aunt Lili's house before, but now its time to really learn how to do it. If you must know, she fell out of the bed last night in Austin and scared the heck out of me. Which was really not a surprise knowing what a wild sleeper she is. We lined the floor with pillows to ease any falls she might have. So we're ready and she's ready too, no drama what so ever at bedtime tonight. Updates coming!!
