8-8-08 bring on the Olympics!

We have a fan in the house and its not just me....Ava is super excited. Her Summer camp has been counting down the days with the summer theme of the Olympics. In fact she came in to my room the other morning and told me...

"Momma, I just saw my Summer camps rings on the T.V."

She's ready and with the new love for Gymnastics (also brought on by summer camp) we'll be watching Nastia Liukin. Born in the Soviet Union she then moved to the USA at the age of 2 1/2. She grew up here in Plano and also trains here....another reason to root for this Texas girl!!

Go Nastia!!!

Summer goes better with H2O!!!!

Remember being a kid during summertime? It was all about the H2O, whether is be through a water hose, jumping through the sprinklers or wading in the pool, it didn't matter as long as the water was on. Growing up on Adrian street we lived right across from the school. So on the days when the grounds we're being watered these huge, powerful sprinklers would come on and we would run around for hours having sprinkler wars against each other. There we're these 3 tall Evergreen trees close to the school where water would collect and make huge mud ponds(probably puddles, but at 6, 7, 8 years old they seemed like ponds)so we would jump, splash and make mud pies for each other....so much fun!

I remember so many other places where the water ruled my summer days. Kerry and I had our birthday(July 13th) parties at the water park in Plainview a couple of years. Mom would load up the van with a bunch of screaming kids and off we'd go for an all day adventure--we thought we we're the coolest. Then when we we're a little older Mom would drop us off at Maxey Pool or Clapp Pool for the afternoons to cool off from the summer heat. And I remember the summer we started building our house in Slaton, I lived to go to the Slaton pool. It was there I met some of my first friends in Slaton.

So when we say "Ava do you want to play in the pool," "Ava do you want to go swimming" or "Ava do you want to water the flowers." I understand why she gets a huge smile on her face and beams sunshine from her eyes....I totally UNDERSTAND!!"

Plano has some of the best community pools and spray parks around. So we started our day off today at Jack Carter Pool and plan on hitting all of them by the time summer is over.Last weekend my niece and nephew were in the Lubbock hanging out with Dee Dee and Papa. Here they are playing out in the sprinklers.....

We'll also have our pool going on in the backyard this summer....think I need to invest a little more $ next time....but to the kids, it doesn't matter.....

Luau Party for the last day of school!!!

Ava's being silly!!!
For the last day of MDO they had a luau party for all the kids. Ava was nothing but smiles the entire morning. She loves her teachers and all the kids so much, we'll miss them this summer!!
Ms. Michelle and Ms. Laurie

One of Ava's little buddies, Emma

Lets eat!!!
Little story. Her teachers sent home cards expressing how much they enjoyed Ava and really bragged on her, when Matthias started to read it he couldn't finish is because it made him want to cry. I thought that was so sweet and shows how proud he is of his little girl...
We love you Ava Lou

Flowers and Flowerbed----Check!

Ava has been the best helper these days and cracks me up of course all the time...Lately when she refers to something in the future its "Next Weekend".....even if its tomorrow, or in a week or in a year. She told me just a few minutes ago...."Mommy, next weekend I'm going to have my birthday party be a princess party," I told her her birthday was in December and she said, "I know".....

Matthias and I worked on our flowerbeds and last weekend and I finished up a few pots this week. Thank God for all the rain this year, everything is so freaking green around here.....Check it out!!And then theres our perfect little boy who got into his sisters markers while we weren't watching....

Max is funny and starting to talk a little more....some of his favorites are "Momma, which he says for everything he wants, Da-Da, Bye-Bye, not that many really. But he can also tell us how a bird and dog go, cute cute cute.He also cut a molar and another front bottom tooth last week....explains now his mood, at one point I called DeeDee to see if she wanted to come get him.....Oh Motherhood.....

BUSTED!!!

This week Max has been waking up at the crack of dawn with Miss Early Riser Ava Lou, which has not been very good for Momma. See, he usually sleeps in for a while which is good because I can get Ava feed and dressed before I move on to him. I've also been hearing her on the other side of the house playing each morning, which I've thought--awesome let me sleep a little longer, but then Max cries and wants out of his bed so we're all up.... So, I finally went in this morning to see what's up, and BUSTED! Ava's been crawling in Max's bed and waking him up all week.

Problem solved.....I should be an private investigator......(matthias thinks so too, but for other reasons....heeheee) Her..."uhhhhoohhh" Him...."GET ME OUTTA HERE"
Her...."Mom, your caught us....." Him....."Thank the Lord"
Her...."Man I can't get away with anything..,.." Him..."Seriously get me away from this Giant"
Thanks MOM!
