Valentines Day Outings

After Ava's school day was over we headed out for a snack and treat at Blue Goose Mexican Cantina. Our new friends Lezlie, Sadie and Conner joined us!!!

It's crazy how a simple balloon can make my babies so happy!! --note to self!!!

Ava at school, today is their Valentines Party-she was really excited to hand out her princess valentines for the girls and transformer valentines for the boys....

Dinner and Dessert Night!!!

After dinner Ava told Matthias as we were leaving Half Shells, "Daddy now I need dessert!" We went to a little dessert restaurant across the street.....YUMMY!!!

Max and Matthias had a Chocolate creation mousse cake creation. The owner told us he just invented it that day....it was chocolaty good!

Saturday's Sleeping Beauties!

With the temps in the high 60's we we're all out and about early....then everyone took a huge 2-3 hour nap....hate to waste such a beautiful day, so we're off to enjoy a little more of the sunlight! Come on Spring Time!!!

What is Fat Tuesday?
How did Mardi Gras begin?

Fat Tuesday is Mardi Gras, the festival New Orleans, Louisiana, is famous for. "Gras" is French for fat and "Mardi" is French for Tuesday.

The annual festivities start on January 6, the Twelfth Night Feast of the Epiphany, when the three kings are supposed to have visited the Christ Child, and build to a climax on Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuesday, which always occurs on the day before Ash Wednesday. The parties and parades will continue until Lent begins at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday.

Mardi Gras is a legal holiday in New Orleans. It is scheduled to occur 46 days before Easter. Since the actual date Easter occurs on changes yearly, Mardi Gras can happen on any Tuesday between February 3 and March 9.

For two centuries it has been an annual event in New Orleans, except during the two World Wars.

Ava story!!!

Friday night Matthias cooked dinner. We had pork loin with a brown sauce and mushrooms. Ava said to me. "Mommy mushrooms are fungi," I said, "That's right Ava they are a fungi." she then when on to tell me again about them being a fungi. Then she said, "Mom your a fun-girl and Dad's a fun-guy too!"

I love her.....she's really brilliant!!

Superbowl Sunday.....

Saturday at the Seymour's....

They call this white trash....I call it Good ole Fun....Hanging out with Judy and Bob's neighbors and friends....

I took three and posted all three, these kids are so stinking cute....The twins live next door to Lesli's parents and are adorable...Adrian, Andrew, Ava and Max

Notice the knee pads on Max....their Adrian's elbow pads....Max was busy crawling around outside and we wanted to protect his little knee's, worked like a charm!!

Lesli and I(or maybe it was just me...)we're not ready for our Saturday to end. So, we took the party over to Judy and Bob's for a little happy hour and homemade dinner by Bob. Later Matthias took Max back to Plano and Ava and I stayed the night. After a big attempt to enjoy a Saturday out on the town watching Bob Schneider play at the Aardvark we called it a night....Loved seeing everyone!!!

Stacy Stoddard's getting Hitched!!!!

Saturday afternoon I joined the ladies in Hurst to celebrate Stacy and John's(yes another Stacy and John) upcoming wedding. It was so much fun and a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Great food, great conversations, great women and lots of Great Gifts!!!
